CARLSBAD RANKS IN TOP 60 SAFEST CITIES

According to recent statistics, Carlsbad ranks 58 out of 371 cities in public safety. The safest cities were listed as Brick, NJ; Amherst, NY; and our neighbors to the north, Mission Viejo, CA.

In an annual study done by Morgan Quitno, a publishing and research company, statistics were compared for cities with populations of 75,000 or more in six basic crime categories: murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary and motor vehicle theft. The study used the final 2005 crime statistics released by the FBI in Sept. 2006 to determine the rankings.

The most dangerous cities were Detroit, MI; Flint, MI; and Compton, CA.
